ISO 50001 certification on Energy efficiency
Intersagunto obtains ISO 50001 certification on energy efficiency. The maritime terminal located in the port of Sagunto operates from the end of December under the ISO 50001 certification on energy efficiency. In just one year the terminal has already managed to reduce its energy consumption by 5% targeting on reducing up to 15% in 2018
Sagunto, February 2017.- On December the 23rd Intersagunto, the terminal Multi-purpose maritime managed by Grupo Alonso, obtains the certificate of energy efficiency ISO 50001 so becomes one of the few to gets this stringent standard in our country. This certificate implies, among other things, a firm commitment to the reduction of the humidity of CO2 per ton transported. The main objective of ISO 50001 certificate is accrediting the constant and effective way to improve the energy efficiency level. A meticulous audit and both the comprenhensive energy saving plan an the use of elements of analysis are carried out to correct any deviation or anomaly.
Intersagunto reduces carbon footprint
For several months ago Intersagunto has been working in reducing its energy consumption in all processes with the aim of offering a custormer service with the least impact in terms of CO2 emissions. This process, which has involved all the staff of the company, has had as a basis the implementation of a network system analyzer that allows the terminal to know the power consumption by sectors in real time. All this data are processed by a computer software to detect and correct any type of incident in a minimum time. Thanks to the implementation of these new energy efficiency system it has been possible to reduce energy consumption in 5% expecting to reach 15% over the next three years.
A pioneering terminal
This new milestone confirms the position of Intersagunto as one of the the most advanced maritime terminals in the Iberian Peninsula in terms of security and efficiency. The ISO 50001 certificate adds to the previous ones such as ISO 9001 Quality certificate and ISO 14001 on the environment. In addition Intersagunto is positioned as the only maritime terminal of these characteristics of the Region of Valencia alongside the AEO seal as Authorized Economic Operator.
